It is the place where God has led me to be at this time in my life. It is my first experience being involved in a church plant, and I have learned and been blessed so much. I would not trade this experience with Genesis for anything.
I am 58 years old, so you’ll understand why this is one of my favorite quotes, “Age is a matter of mind, if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” I enjoy getting older ‘cause you either get older or you don’t.
I really don’t have any favorites—I love to read biographies, history, sci-fi, mysteries, and most things science related
Don’t really have any of them either. I love comedies, sci-fi, and yes, I’m an incurable romantic
All things outdoors—I was raised in the country. You know the old saying, “you can take the boy out of the country, but can’t take the country out of the boy.” That would be me. I like to work on cars, most of the time, and have been a ‘shade tree’ mechanic most of my life.
I grew up in a small farming town in Tennessee near Nashville. I watched entirely too much Tarzan as a kid—my brother and I tried, and were mostly successful, to imitate Tarzan’s abilities. My brother and I taught ourselves how to “skinny up” trees that don’t have branches—a feat that I am still able to do today, even at my advanced age. When you live in the country, you have to learn to entertain yourself and let’s just say that my brother and I were very inventive in the entertainment end, much to my parent’s chagrin—I have many stories of our “adventures.”
That Genesis will become and be a beacon of light and hope to the lost in our community, that Genesis will grasp hold of the great commission and reach others for Christ where we live and the world. That the people from Genesis will be recognized for the caring, loving relationships, modeled by the Master. That we develop those relationships with all we encounter, and that Genesis will be transformed a little more each day into the image of Christ.
