Bio: Missy Raley

Responsibilities

As the Director of Genesis Kids, I am responsible for leading children into a dynamic relationship with Christ and equipping them to serve.

Family

My husband, Chad, and I have been married since 2009. He grew up in Ballwin, MO and I am from Alton, IL. We met through mutual friends just after college as we were both trying to figure out how to be adults. Our four children, Miriam, Thomas, Ricky, and Joey, keep us pretty busy but that didn’t stop us from having a “Covid baby”, our dog Hamilton.

Education

Bachelor of Music in Music Business – Millikin University, 2005
Certification in Music Education – University of Missouri – St. Louis, 2009

What Genesis Means To You

Well before joining our lives together, Chad and I searched for a church home where we would find a family and be filled with truth. The Lord brought us to Eureka kicking and screaming but he was really bringing us to Genesis. We are blessed to be surrounded by biblically sound teaching and a community of believers.

Favorite Movies

I love to watch historical documentaries, dramas, and biopics. If I have to choose a favorite movie, though, it’s Now and Then… and unless you were a 13 year old girl in the mid-90s you probably haven’t heard of it.

What You Enjoy

I love board games, “glamping,” and generally getting outside with my family. In my current stage of life, I have developed a new found love for Legos! I have a passion for leading and learning as well as creating a space for people to be in community with one another while sharing the gospel. I am able to do this through Genesis Kids, our local MOPS group as well as our MOPS Kids program.

Where You Grew Up and What You Did As A Kid

I grew up in Alton….Godfrey, Illinois and went to Alton High School. Almost my entire life revolved around music. Band, choir, orchestra, musical theater, I did it all… all the time.

Hope For Genesis

I hope that Genesis continues to grow and expand its reach so that more and more people come to know the transformative power of Christ. It is my hope for our Genesis Kids that they are and grow into disciple makers, pouring their knowledge of and love for Jesus into their friends and family.
