A New Beginning in Christ

Apr 11, 2021 • Mike Hubbard • Series: A Place for New Beginnings

The two stories from Luke show two types of people who were marginalized by the religious culture, yet they came to Jesus who received them and loved them. The outcome for both was a fresh start and new life. When Genesis was planted, we started with knowing two things. First, we knew that the Gospel was glorious and capable of saving any person who met Jesus and followed and giving them a new beginning in life. Second, we knew that in order for people to meet Jesus there had to be a church who cared about the unchurched and dechurched in our city. We wanted to be a church in Eureka for the city of Eureka sharing the Gospel with the people of Eureka. At the time we met many people who had a common story, generally some religious background, yet they were no longer connected to church. We planted Genesis for these people and wanted Genesis to be a safe place for any person, no matter what background, story, religious heritage, or struggle to explore faith and hear from Jesus.
