Busyness

May 20, 2018 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Family Vacation

No doubt, busyness is one of the most significant challenges that we face as families. All you have to do is sign each of your kids up for one extra activity and you will find yourself shifting from mom and dad to Uber driver extraordinaire. Our pace of life is crazy, and can be dangerous. Furthermore, all the extra things we have in our lives can easily crowd out the most important things. As a gift to us, God has given a very clear prescription for this by giving defined life rhythms to be honored in His gift of the Sabbath. There is a reason God called His people in the Old Testament to hit the pause button once a week so they could worship, spend a day with the family, and take a nap. Yet, Israel did not heed the warning. We will see from Israel's history, the disastrous outcome when the people of God got so busy with their own lives that they neglected God's place for them.
