Dead

Mar 11, 2018 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Believe

"It Is Finished." These are Jesus' last words during his earthly life, the final declaration before He died. While this might sound like the sad admission that death had won and life was over, in reality it is quite the opposite. Jesus' final words are actually a bold pronouncement that He had accomplished all that the Father had willed, resulting in victory and glory. When thinking about the cross of Christ, we often focus on what Jesus did specifically for us as He died for our sins. But the death of Jesus accomplished so much more. It is an irony that dying words are filled with victory. Today we will look at the moment of Jesus' death, and learn that this moment has outcomes that are cosmic, redefining reality and reaching to every corner of the universe. And, hopefully, we will learn that the victory we are promised in this life comes as we live under the glory of the cross.
