Failure and Faithfulness

The Bible is full of promises, and God is faithful. On the other hand, our story is full of our own failure and the failure of God's people corporately. We begin our May Prayer Emphasis with a great text as Daniel lifts up prayer for himself and his people. Daniel's prayer is a wonderful example of how we should pour out our soul to the heavenly Father, knowing that He is faithful even when we are faithless. Furthermore, Daniel's prayer is rooted in the Word of God and the promises therein. In this prayer, we have a template that shows us that repentance is more than just an individual act; there is the purposeful confession of our corporate prayer as well. Kingdom exiles will see that, for the believer, all of life is repentance, and will actively confess their sin and the sin of their people.
