Feet

Aug 27, 2017 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Believe

Feet are gross--no way around this. You may think your feet are the exception, but those close to you know the truth. At the time of Jesus' life, people would walk miles every day over dirty and trash covered streets with all kinds of nasty stuff. When visitors came into a home, it was the job of the lowliest servants to wash feet. By washing the disciple's feet, Jesus demonstrates the upside down kingdom, where the King serves and gives Himself away. The act is even more amazing when we realize who all is at the table. This is an act of sheer grace and service, and a reminder that we cannot be rescued unless we are washed by our King. Jesus also sets the tone for His people, as He shows us how we must serve each other in His name.
