People in our culture pay a lot of money and spend significant energy developing their financial plan, seeking to guarantee security and happiness well into retirement years. Start early, build a portfolio, and invest well. The goal is security, comfort, and maybe even a beach house late in life. But what if this approach actually ran in a different direction---the financial planning Jesus gives us. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus revealed attitudes and actions for developing a portfolio that will last well past our retirement years, as He pushes us toward contentment and an eternal perspective on investing. And, Jesus' investment plan comes with a pretty significant warning: we cannot serve both God and money.
