God’s Top Ten

"Thou Shalt!!!" "Thou Shalt Not!!!" Many of us have grown up in traditions with a lot of emphasis on God's rules, and specifically the 10 Commandments. The outcome may be that when approaching the Bible we believe that the Bible is primarily a rule book, God's way of giving His commands with a staunch order to obey. "Be good, keep God's rules, and by all means, let's post them in our public buildings, or God won't like us." What if were to tell you that the Laws of God were in the Bible for a different reason, and they were pointing to something much greater than our rule-keeping? This is our task today, to discover why there are so many rules in the Bible and to learn what we should do with them.
