Any farmer knows, good crops need sun and rain. While a year of 80 degree sunny days would make for a great summer of baseball, it would be disastrous for a field of crops. Crops need some of those dark, dreary days with a steady downpour. We are no different. Life is a combination of sun and rain, and we need both. Yet, the sun and rain do not determine what grows. Rather, sun and rain are the conditions for the growth of whatever has been planted. This is the focus of our message today from the book of Ecclesiastes in our series, Harvest.
