He Told Him the Good News

What a bizarre and amazing story! An Ethiopian man had traveled to Jerusalem to worship God. Because he was a eunuch (made that way in order to serve his queen), he would have been excluded from worship in the inner courts of the Temple. As he returns home, he is reading a scroll of Isaiah and comes to a passage he does not understand. But Philip comes alongside, explains the text and points him to Jesus. Philip is a faithful witness. This is what our neighbors and friends need as well---to be shown Jesus from the Scriptures and have the good news explained. When we do this, God will be faithful, and we, too, can see people rescued by Christ and baptized.
