Healthy

Jul 14, 2019 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Core

The Bible makes many promises about peace in life, yet it often seems peace is hard to find. Many times the reason is that our priorities in life are distorted. For us to set our sails to experience the beauty of grace, the rhythms and priorities shaped by the Gospel are where we should start. But we also need to remember that we are whole people--- body, soul, and spirit---which means health and holiness in all three areas are important. Each of us is unique, meaning we bring different struggles, backgrounds, family stories, pains, and challenges to our relationship with God and others. Any area of life that is unhealthy, broken, and painful will deeply effect our ability to function in other areas. As we talk about priorities in life, we need to realize the importance of investing in our own emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health. Of course, we must guard rhythms that will enable health and get help when we have areas of deep struggle. For believers, this health comes through our sanctification, which is the process of God making us like Jesus. Our hope and prayer this morning is that we would see ourselves as wholistic people, and that God would help us find health and peace in all areas of life.
