I Am

Apr 23, 2017 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Believe

Jesus had the capacity to say things that left those who heard him scratching their heads. After a lengthy debate with Jews who started the afternoon thinking they believed, Jesus informed them that Abraham rejoiced about the day that he would see Jesus. There were two problems with that statement: Abraham had died around 1800 years before, so how could he ever see Jesus? And how could a guy who lived that far in the past be looking forward to a person born almost 2 millennia later? What Jesus said next changed this from a discussion to an attempted execution, and ultimately sealed the fate of Jesus. But this declaration should leave us leaping for joy, if we can just believe His words.
