Joy in Anxiety

Nov 25, 2018 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Letter from a Roman Jail

While this past Thursday was a reminder that we have a lot to be thankful for, we can also have a lot to be anxious about. We all deal with anxiety in some way, shape or form. Money challenges and mounting debt, struggling kids, relationship issues, and health problems are just a few of the issues that can keep us up at night and cause us to get that nervous eye twitch. It seems absurd for Paul to tell us, "Be anxious for nothing." Truth is, though, that anxiety is one of the greatest joy stealers in life. So, Paul also gives us stabilizers, things that help us absorb the struggles and the fear of the unknown that bring anxiety. What we find is a call to discipline in the life of the mind.
