Humility is one of those crazy and elusive ideas. No one can claim to be humble, because once you make the claim you reveal your pride. Yet, humility is one of the most important virtues. Complicating the challenge is the reality that we live in a world that exalts those who thump their own chest and pursue self-esteem and self-exaltation. Yet Peter reminds us that the clearest path to a full life is the path of humbling yourself in the sight of the Lord. It is this path the will put us in the place where God can raise us to greater heights.
