Living As The Church

I can't imagine the idea of facing hardship or persecution alone. For those connected to the community of faith, the church in those times will be so much more than a gathering or program. This morning you probably woke up and spoke of going to church. But, God's desire is for us to be the church, to be a gathering of Gospel-transformed people living in deep community with Jesus as their Chief Shepard. In this community God raises leaders who are to serve as loving shepherds protecting the unity and faithfulness of God's people. As the church grows together in difficulty there is a picture presented to the world. But we will find that the key ingredient is something that is hard to maintain, humility.
