Marriage and Divorce

A recent Time Magazine article raised the question, "Who needs marriage?" While it may seem that our culture is trending away from what many would define as the traditional family, the struggles of marriage and family are not new. Believe it or not, over 2,000 years ago divorce and marriage was a hot topic, as people divorced in significant numbers. In that context Jesus spoke some direct and clear words about the nature of marriage and the danger of divorce. Those words ring true today, especially for those who love Jesus and seek to honor God. In the service today our text is going to lead us right into the vortex of a very heated and often painful topic. But we hope the commands of Jesus as the grace of the Gospel will meet as we share what the Bible teaches about marriage and divorce.
