Mystery

Jesus is conversing with the Jews, the religious leaders; and they do not understand Him at all. Jesus makes the declaration that He is the Light of the World, which prompts a discussion about His true identity. But what we discover is that Jesus' identity and mission are intertwined into one of the richest, deepest doctrines that Christians believe: the doctrine of the Trinity. Jesus and the Father both bear witness of Jesus, are involved in His being sent, and even have purpose in His being lifted up. And, the Holy Spirit makes Jesus known to us in the world. To know Jesus is to know the Father and have fellowship with the Spirit. But, all of this is a mystery...
