On Target Parenting: Aim In The Right Direction

If you are a parent, you had this experience at some time. On some evening, maybe the night one of your children was born, you held that precious baby as he or she began to settle down to sleep. You looked at the sweet little nose, the cute hairline, the eyes that seemed to look into your soul, and held that soft little hand. As you gazed at this wonderful creation in the image of God, you began to wonder. How will this little life go? What will his or her joys and challenges be? You began to think of your hopes and dreams for this little new life. But were those dreams what God intended them to be? The feeling of being responsible for the direction of this life began to seep into your soul. We've all felt that burden and joy. This morning we are going to begin a new series taking a look at some principles for parenting from the Scriptures, as we look at the goals God intends for us to have for our kids.
