On Target Parenting: Applying The Right Amount Of Tension

Sep 20, 2009 • Mike Hubbard • Series: On Target Parenting

The sound of a belt clearing belt loops. That's a sound that brings fear to many a kid, and leaves a lot of us adults with heightening nerves. The subject of the discipline of children is, to say the least, a controversial topic. The culture wants us to believe that our little bundles of joy are blank slates who are inherently good, all they need is the right set of circumstances and they will turn out great. Most parents know better. As we train our kids with the Gospel, they need the right amount of tension in their lives. We need to work to provide a great balance of relational communication and proper discipline to help them find the Gospel.
