Once I Was Blind

May 7, 2017 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Believe

In John 9, the Light of the World re- vealed Himself by opening the eyes of a man who was born blind. Yet, once again, the religious crowd missed the forest for the trees. Rather than giving glory to God for a sign that was reserved for the Messiah, they got upset because Jesus did it on the wrong day. The story is clear, the people who claim to see (the Pharisees) are actually blind. And, the man who was blind ends the story seeing, because He has believed in the True Light. But, the story confronts us, too, and reminds us that the only way we see anything clearly is when it is made visible by the Light of the World.
