Overcome

This morning we are returning to our series from the Gospel of John. In the closing lines of Jesus' teaching to His disciples, the focus is on the reality that the events of the cross are about to happen. Jesus will die, rise again, and ascend. In just a little while, He will be with them no more. But, in God's timing, it is just a little while until He comes back. Now we live in between the times. And the key to living between the times is prayer, rooted in God's love and purpose; we pray. We pray, not as people who do not know the outcome, but as followers of Jesus, who has overcome the world.
