Prime Rib

I love me some steak. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with a hot dog too. But a good steak or medium rare cut of prime rib, now that is the basis of a fabulous meal. Maybe Bible reading is so difficult for some of us because we view the Bible as fast food, not a gourmet meal. Our view of the Bible will deeply affect our appetite for it. So we have to determine, is the Bible only a book about God, or is it truly from God, His revelation of Himself to us. If the Bible is about God, then it is probably just one of many books that can be helpful in our spiritual journey. But if it is from Him, His very Word, then our intake of the Bible is the link to knowing Him and experiencing the promises given. And we will better understand the Scriptures when we realize that every word is part of a great story leading to a main character.
