Promises, Promises

"Father Abraham had many sons, many sons had Father Abraham..." If you grew up in church you probably sang this song as you spun around with arms flailing and legs kicking as you declared that you too were one of Abraham's sons. Funny song for a dude whose wife was barren when she was 90 years old. The story of God takes a turn as God calls a seemingly unimportant pagan man named Abram, makes a bunch of promises to him, changes his name, and then leads him to faith and obedience. God makes a covenant with Abraham. This morning we will learn from the life of this man, and take a look into the idea of covenant, as we learn how God draws people into relationship with Himself.
