Red Letters: Finished!

Apr 12, 2009 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Red Letters

This weekend, Christians all over the world are celebrating the greatest single event in the world, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Countless movies have been made about the life and death of Jesus, and more books have been written and songs sung about him than any other figure. But what did Jesus really accomplish on the cross? Among his last words during his execution, Jesus made the declaration, "It is finished!". More than a statement that life was over, this cry of victory gives us the whole sum of the Gospel in one word (it is one word in the original language - "Tetelesti"). Today, we will unpack this word from the mouth of Jesus and find out what it means to us today.
