Red Letters: The Gospel and Discernment

Walk through most any Christian bookstore, and the shelves are full of books written to address almost every life issue and appeal to every type of reader. The Christian "bestseller" list can have some very good books, but to be honest, it also contains materials written by people who deny essentials of the faith and miss the essence of the Gospel. The same is true of preachers on TV, spiritual bloggers on the internet, and programs on the radio. We live in an age where the availability of Christian teaching is the highest it has ever been, but that has also come with more faulty and false teaching than ever as well. In our day and age, it is important to understand Jesus' words in the passage we will study this morning, "Beware of false prophets".
