Religion - All For Me

Sep 4, 2011 • Weston Ely • Series: Follow the Leader

What a scene! Thousands of people mingling in the location of the center of Jewish religious life doing their duty for God. The Temple was always a bustling place, as people brought their offerings, made sacrifices, offered prayers, and did so many other things that represented their Jewish religion and heritage. For many, large offerings were offered loudly so all could notice their piety. Meanwhile, a poor widow placed two pennies in the offering bin. Nobody noticed her, nobody but Jesus that is. Yet, Jesus will teach us about our spirituality and religious service through the offering given by this widow. This morning, Weston Ely will be preaching and talking to us about what this two coin offering teaches us about our own spiritual life.
