River

Mar 12, 2017 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Believe

The Feast of Booths was a celebration of God's faithfulness to His people while they were wandering in the wilderness. In Exodus 17:6, God told Moses to strike a rock with his staff. Water miraculously gushed forth, as God provided for His desperate people. With this as the backdrop, Jesus stands and boldly cries out to thirsty people at the Feast that if they will believe in Him, God will do the same miracle in their hearts that He did with the rock. This is a picture of the Holy Spirit, who is like a river gushing out of us and bringing fresh water to our world. What a promise for parched people!
