Scrooged:The Ghost of Christmas Past

Dec 8, 2008 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Scrooged

For Ebenezer Scrooge, the visit of the Ghost of Christmas Past was bittersweet. Scrooge was reminded of some of the good relationships and tender moments from his childhood and early adulthood. But he also was taken to times in his life that brought great pain and reminded him of decisions he had made that set the course of his life. The story of "A Christmas Carol" is about the redemption of Scrooge and deliverance from the past. For us, the Gospel of the cross provides redemption from our past and the possibility that the sin and discontent that holds us can be turned into things of beauty.
