Our Favorite Things is the title of our summer series. The Elders and staff have selected a favorite passage of scripture and sermons are based on each of those passages. Today's message is from the Romans 8:1-17, chosen by Genesis Elder, Kirk Mathews, who will be bringing the message today. Kirk recently completed the preaching cohort class with three other Genesis Members. The 8th Chapter of the Book of Romans is full of glorious declarations as the Apostle Paul writes to the church of Rome about the freedoms we can enjoy as believers in Jesus Christ! After defining struggles with his own sinful nature in Chapter 7, Paul shares how each member of the Trinity plays a part in the freedoms available to the believer. Today we will see how to deal with the "Me Monster" that lives in each of us and begin to understand justification, sanctification and adoption as they relate to the Christian life.
