Sidewalk Cracks

Jun 17, 2012 • Weston Ely • Series: Becoming Who You Are

Summer for families with kids will mean long trips in the car marked by the inevitable conversation, 'Stop touching your brother/sister!' This line is commonly met with one sibling putting their hands as close to the other without actually touching them. This response transcends generational, economic, and racial lines. The truth is, humans want to only do what is absolutely required from us, so we can maximize our own self-interest. Is this an appropriate response to the Christian life? Do we only need to follow God's do's and don'ts? Today we will look at the Christian ethic described in Ephesians 4:25-32. Here, Paul tells us there is more than stepping to the line of God's standards and declaring, "I'm not touching you!"
