Take Heart

Our Favorite Things is the title of our summer series. The Elders and staff have selected a favorite passage of scripture and sermons are based on each of those passages. Today's message is from John 16:25-33, the favorite passage of Youth Ministry Director Travis Dierker. As Jesus is nearing His crucifixion and death on the cross, John records some of Jesus' final words to His disciples regarding three things: faith, hope and love.As we must have faith and trust in Jesus, He provides us with hope for the future, but most of all He provides us love. "Take heart for I have overcome the world" provides us with peace, hope and love.What a great reminder for all of us during any trial or tribulation! One of my favorite Christian songs is "Praise You in This Storm"---it is such a great reminder that we must trust in Him and praise Him during the tough times, knowing that in the end, He has given us faith, hope and love.
