Thanksgiving

May 8, 2011 • Mike Hubbard • Series: iPray

We have special days set aside to remind us to be thankful. Today is one of those days as we are thankful both for and to our moms. We have another such day in November which also comes with way too much food. Yet, there is a big difference between having times set aside to have a thankful heart, and developing a life of gratitude. Pastor and author John MacArthur said, "A thankful heart is one of the primary identifying characteristics of a believer. It stands in stark contrast to pride, selfishness, and worry. And it helps fortify the believer’s trust in the Lord and reliance of His provision, even in the toughest times. No matter how choppy the seas become, a believer's heart is buoyed by constant praise and gratefulness to the Lord." The second sermon in our iPray series will look at the App of Thanksgiving, and we will look at having our faith grow as a result of continual gratitude.
