The Cost of Following Jesus

Back to the Gospel of Mark this morning and the story of Jesus. We titled the series "Follow the Leader" because the key message of Mark is a call to know Jesus and follow Him. Often, we like the things Jesus promises to His followers, Joy, peace, hope, faith, love.... But the path to deeply experiencing Jesus and His blessing is another issue. Jesus' path is to the cross. When Jesus predicts this, his disciples are not sure what to make of it, and they tell Jesus he is a bit crazy. But when Jesus tells them that the path of following Jesus will lead them to the same place....the whole game changes. At Genesis, our desire is to help people find Jesus and then become devoted followers of Him as their King and God. This path is not an easy road, but it is well worth it. Today we will hear from Jesus himself about what this actually means.
