The Gift of Joy

Everyone wants to be happy. This is the goal of our heart, yet happiness can be so elusive. We sing, "It's the most wonderful time of the year," but, often, Christmas heightens feelings of despair, loneliness, and depression. If it is supposed to be a time so full of joy, why is it that so many of us fail to feel the joy? A we continue our series on themes around the Advent candles today, we will see Isaiah promised that the coming of Jesus would increase joy. But, the pursuit of the joy of Christ does not come to us the way most people search for happiness during Christmas.
