The God Who is Holy

Mar 29, 2015 • Mike Hubbard • Series: I Am

As an umpire, I have become sort of a master at reading rule books. The job of an umpire is to know the rules inside and out and apply those rules to every possible situation in a game. Rules keep the game going, make the game work, and keep the game fair. Often the Bible has been referred to as God's rulebook. It is true that the Bible has a good number of laws, and on one level their purpose is to show us how God desires for us to live in this world. But, there is a key problem, we don't. Today we will look at a few of the laws God gave His people in Exodus, but we will use this to ask and hopefully answer a simple question, why does God give rules?
