The Praise of God

Jan 29, 2012 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Church 101

This is the final sermon in our four part series on re-thinking the church. So far we have discussed the who, how, and what of the church. The church is the people of God, not a place, event, or program. The power of the church is found only in person of the Holy Spirit filling people and equipping us to obey and submit to His purpose. The purpose of the church is to make disciples, transformed and committed followers of Jesus who love Him deeply and live in obedience to Him. This morning we are going to talk about the why of the church. Why do we gather, why do we go, why do we have Community Groups…? In Ephesians 3:20-21 as he says, "To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations." We exist for the glory and praise of our great God, and this must be the heart motivation for everything we are and everything we do, to declare and demonstrate the glory of our great God!
