Their Story is Our Story

Jan 13, 2013 • Weston Ely • Series: One Story. One Hero. One Mission.

For many, the Old Testament is not read and enjoyed to the same degree as the New Testament. Many do not find in it the same source of life because it is at best difficult to read and at worse boring. The Old Testament is practically treated as secondary to the "Christian" Scriptures of the New Testament. Last week Mike began a sermon series titled "1 Story, 1 Hero, 1 Mission", This series will look at multiple Old Testament stories and heroes and reveal how they all fit into one grand story about one great hero who is on one God-glorifying mission. Jesus Christ is that hero and it is our aim at Genesis to examine how the Old Testament leads us to Christ. Today, Weston will examine how Christians are connected to the Old Testament, why they should view it as their spiritual heritage, and the implications this mindset will have on our lives.
