The book of the Bible we are studying this series is James and it is a letter believed to have been written by James the brother of Jesus. This letter is considered wisdom literature and placed in the same category as Proverbs. Yet, despite this categorization, James begins its teaching with a peculiar phrase, "Count it all joy when you encounter various trails/temptations." Today we will consider how and why this could be wise counsel.
