Vote For Jesus

We're Americans! We pride ourselves in being the great nation that threw off the bonds of royal power and replaced the king with a representative democracy. No king will tell us how to live or what to do, we tell our government to follow our directions and if they don't, well, we will just vote the bums out. Sadly, we too often have the same attitude toward God. We don't like a King who rules over us and demands our loyalty. We prefer having the right to vote and choose our own way. David became the king of Israel in the Old Testament, but his rule was a precursor and picture of something greater, the Kingdom of God. We won't understand the Gospel until we realize that it is an invitation into a Kingdom and to a King.
