What on Earth Am I Here For?

Apr 15, 2012 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Welcome to the Planet

Where did we come from? Where are we going? Why are we here? As humans, part of our existence involves contemplating deep questions of meaning and purpose. Christianity not only encourages deep struggle with these questions, it also gives clear answers. We are created by God for a definite purpose. The Westminster Catechism states, "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." In other words, the reason for our existence is to bring glory to our creator and to have joy in life, to be happy in Him. Today we begin a 40-day journey looking at the core purpose God has for us, and five specific paths or purposes we need to implement in life in order to live for God's glory and experience His joy! We were created to worship Him, become more like Him, be a part of His family, serve Him, and be on mission with Him. This series is a part of our 40 Days of Purpose Campaign based on the book The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Join us for this incredible journey.
