Why Fish?

Sep 9, 2012 • Mike Hubbard • Series: Go Fish!

There is something exciting about fishing, that moment when you feel the tug on the line, the hook is set, and you start reeling in a catch. Whether you are a four-year-old kid, an old geezer sitting on a dock with a straw hat, or Bill Dance, catching a fish is fun. Jesus' first followers included several fishermen, and as he called them to follow he used the thrill of fishing to explain their mission. "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." This morning we begin a new series we are calling "Go Fish" helping us learn to share our faith. The series will explain the thrill of being a fisher of men, and make sure your tackle box has all the necessary equipment for the mission. Today we will look at the incredible story of a group of fisherman and ask a simple question, "Why fish?"
