We are starting a summer series on the Old Testament book of Proverbs this morning. The key idea is living wisely in a broken world, as Proverbs is filled with short, pithy statements that deal with all sorts of life issues. Proverbs has a simple call to see our lives through God's lives and live accordingly. For the most part, Proverbs is written from the perspective of a father who is having talks with his teenage son, encouraging him to make wise choices with his work, sex, alcohol use, money, and lots of other real life issues.
