Our culture seems to find less and less value in marriage. Some see it as an ancient institution that should be done away with, while others just choose to live together with no commitment. Meanwhile, divorce rates remain at around 50%, even within Christianity. But, Malachi is going to remind God's people that their marriages matter, and there is a direct correlation between the way we love our spouse and our experience of God in our worship and religion. Marriage is a covenant, which is a totally different view of marriage than the one held by our culture. Since, God designed marriage, it is good for us to hear His words on the subject.
