You Were Created for God’s Family - The Purpose of Fellowship

The church is not a building and the church is not an organization and the church is not an institution and the so church is not a social club. The Bible says it's a family. Most of the time when you use the word "church" you use it in the wrong way. You say, "I'm going to church." Not you're not going to church. You're going to a worship service. Church is not something you go to. Church is a family you belong to. It's not a building, it's not a program, it's not a service, it's not a campus. Church is a family you belong to because you're a believer in Jesus Christ. Then you go to a service or a program or whatever. This morning Weston Ely will be preaching and showing us how we were formed for God's family, and that living in community and fellowship with the church is more than a good idea, it is one of the purposes of life.
