Zeal

Imagine this. You are here at church, minding your own business, when all of a sudden there is a stampede of livestock and some guy with a whip flipping tables and shouting at everyone! It is an understatement to say you may not revisit that church. However, in this story in John we see Jesus enraged, and turning the Jewish temple into Fight Club. What in the world would make Jesus react in this way? The answer is that Jesus saw in the temple a lack of worship and it angered him, but even more importantly, Jesus used this as an opportunity to declare who he really is and the mission for his ministry.
